Wha's In My Travel Makeup Bag (January 2018 Edition)
In this week's post, I'm sharing all the makeup products I'm taking with my on a business trip. It can be tough to pack for work trips because you've got to find the right balance between professional makeup that lasts all day and products that travel well. Here are the products I'm taking with me so that I can look my best while on the go!
It all starts with the makeup bag. I lucked into this great travel bag as a free gift with purchase at a department store Dior counter. I'm obsessed with travel bags and pouches and I love that this one both has separate compartments for my brushes and my products all in one compact bag.
My Guerlain Meteorites Oxygen Care primer is a great multitasker - it moisturizes, keeps skin clear with oxygen in its formula (great for me since I'll be keeping long hours in my makeup), and adds radiance to my skin so I can cheat like I got more sleep than I did while working on this trip.
For complexion, I'm going with the Giorgio Armani trifecta - the Power Fabric foundation (for long wear and excellent coverage), the High Precision Retouch concealer (for undereye and any blemishes), and the Luminous Silk face powder (to lock everything in.)
For an all-over, even glow (or a subtle highlight when applied more heavily, I packed my Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder in Ethereal Light. I'll be running around quite a bit on this trip, and I might need all the help I can get to look well-rested and ready to go. This powder is a great way to cheat that effect!
Finally, I'm adding my Urban Decay Naked Flushed palette in the shade Streak. It's the absolute perfect way to pack a bronzer, blush and highlighter and the formulas are fabulous.
For lip gloss, I've packed two Buxom Full-On Lip Polish glosses (in shades Sarah and Maria) for a quick and easy lip. I love the minty formula which helps keep my breath fresh while I'm on the go.
Finally, it's time for eyes and brows. I've packed the Tarte's Tartelette Toasted palette for a ton of eye shadow looks in a slim package. For liner, I'm packing Smashbox's Always Sharp waterproof liner in black and MAC's Technakohl liner Brown Border so I have two options and no need to pack a sharpener. For mascara, I've packed my Giorgio Armani Black Ecstasy mascara in Obsidian Black for a natural, high-impact lash. Finally, I've packed a mini version of Anastasia Bevery Hills's Clear Brow Gel (full size available here) and their Brow Wiz in Medium Brown to keep my unruly brows tamed all day.
No makeup look can happen without great brushes and tools. I've packed some great MAC brushes that will multitask while I'm on the go. From left to right: the 138S brush is great for all-over powder application and with its tulip shape, has a great tip for light bronzing. The 170 brush is great for applying and buffing in foundation and can double up to stipple concealer under my eyes in a pinch. The 168 brush is great for blending in bronzer or applying blush - and I can angle it to double up as a highlight brush. The 286 brush is fantastic for controlling a heavy hand on shadow application and the 234 split-fiber brush is a great two-in-one brush for all-over, crease and lid application.

I've packed a great makeup bag with all the products I'll need to keep up with my working days while I'm on the road. (Note: I always keep a travel bottle of makeup setting spray on me, so it wasn't included in my list.) What products do you pack when you're on the road? Share your favorites in the comments below.
