New Beauty Products I've Been Loving (November 2017)
I'm beginning a series on this blog to discuss some of the new (or new to me) beauty products that have been welcome additions to my collection of beauty products. From hair to skincare to makeup, I'll round up the products that have impressed me and that you may want to check out for yourself.
First up is Too Faced's Hangover 3-in-1 primer and setting spray. It delivers an ultra fine mist that lightly moisturizes and primes skin, creating a nice base for your foundation and concealer to sit on. I'm not sold on it being a traditional setting spray for locking in makeup for a long day's wear, but it definitely does a fantastic job of making powdered makeup blend into the skin and refreshing makeup to make it look new again. For anyone who found the lotion version of the Hangover primer to be too heavy or greasy, this liquid spray version give all the great moisturizing benefits without any of those downsides.
Too Faced's Peaches and Cream Peach Mist Mattifying Setting Spray definitely locks in makeup for full day's wear without drying out skin in the process. It's infused with enough moisture to keep skin from feeling tight and dry but definitely dries down to a matte finish. This setting spray is the best friend for anyone with oily skin. Dry skin users should either skip out on this setting spray or consider using a moisturizing finishing spray first and locking everything in with this gem.
The rare non-drying longwear concealer, Dior's DiorSkin Forever Uncercover Concealer manages to cover dark circles or blemishes in a formula that manages to be creamy, full coverage, light and budge-proof. This concealer lets me look like I've had a great night's sleep even if I haven't.
I'm always on the hunt for a mascara that's so volumizing, thickening and lengthening that it looks like I'm wearing false eyelashes. If that's what you're looking for in a mascara, then say hello to Urban Decay's Troublemaker mascara. It has a lot of interesting hype for its long wear and building bold lashes, and I will say that it looked great from going to work to heading out for an event that night. One coat gives a fantastic lash, but an additional coat or two gives a great false lash effect.
Anastasia Beverly Hills makes the most pigmented highlighters in the game so I'm always excited to add these gems to my collection. The Sugar Glow Kit (now on sale!) has a great blend of cool and warm-toned highlighters to be a great grab-and-go kit for any makeup look. Pro tip: Try mixing highlighting shades together to create your own custom highlighter to better fit your skin tone.
Finally, Tarte's Tartelette Toasted eyeshadow palette just speaks to me - I'm a sucker for warm shadows and this tiny palette more than fits the bill. The third in the Tartelette series, this palette is easily my favorite of the three with a fantastic blend of mattes, shimmers, and smokey colors to create a ton of eye looks. It's one of the few eyeshadow palettes that'll work for a wide variety of skin tones by including a number of shades and finishes that allow plenty of beauty lovers to be able to use it. Plus, the shadows are creamy, blendable and, with Tarte's Amazonian clay formula, super long wearing.
