Crafter's Delight: Stranger Things Gift Wrap and Card
Calling all Stranger Things fans! I recently put togther a Stranger Things-themed gift wrapping job for a friend's birthday and I'm super excited with how it all turned out! Here's how I pulled it off:
The Card:
The Card:
To make the card, I found a website that allows you to make your own Stranger Things-fonted messages, and I downloaded that image into a new Microsoft Word file.
I then printed a picutre of the Upside Down and my birthday message onto sticker paper, then mounted the sticker paper onto card stock. Here's the back of the card pulled together.
For the inside of the card, I printed a picture of Dustin - my friend's favorite character - and mounted it onto a card stock spring that I made by folding a small, thick piece of card stock into an accordion. This way, Dustin pops up when you open the card. I then hand wrote a birthday message.
The Gift:
I started by wrapping my gift in red gift wrap to coordinate with the red card stock I'd used for the card.
Time for creativity! I turned to Google Images to find some great images of Dustin and the rest of the cast in action andn turned the images into a film strip. I then printed the strips onto sticker paper and cut them down to size.
For the center of the gift, I found a great artsy rendition of the Upside Down and printed it, along with the birthday message I'd used for the card design, onto sticker paper.
Here are all the pieces of the gift wrappind decorations printed out for prepping to be placed onto the gift to make a "ribbon" effect. My recommendation: I always like to print an extra film strip image in case I needed it to make the ribbon effect longer.
Once I cut my Upside Down image down, I used a 1" edge puncher to round out all four corners of the image.

I then used a pair of sharp crafting scissors to cut out the happy birthday message and then secured it to the Upside Down image.
And finally, assembly time! I layered the center image over the film strips to create a non-traditional "ribbon" effect - it makes the gift look as pulled together as if I'd used a ribbon but it's even cooler and craftier with this theme.
