My Favorite Ways to Use Purity Made Simple by Philosophy

As my nearly-empty bottle of Philosophy's Purity Made Simple demonstrates, this is one of my favorite beauty products. It's a cult favorite product for many beauty lovers, having made Allure Magazine's Best of Beauty Hall of Fame in 2016. 

Purity Made Simple is a wonderful facial cleanser that thoroughly but gently pulls out dirt, oil and debris from skin, leaving it cleansed in one step. It works for all skin types - from the oiliest to the driest - making it one of the rare universal beauty products that everyone loves. Plus, you only need a tiny bit to get maximum result, making it really cost-efficient. It more than earned its cult status.

I've gone through a so many bottles of Purity Made Simple over the years and I've come to find some new ways to use this beauty staple that you may also find helpful.

1. Use it as a makeup remover.

It's pretty clear that it's a facial cleanser, but not all facial cleansers are good at breaking down makeup well enough to be considered a good makeup remover. Purity is up for the challenge. Even my most stubborn waterproof makeup melts away with a small dollop of Purity and a warm washcloth.

2. Use it as a body wash.

I suffer from the occasional breakout and can get breakouts along my body when my skin is particularly oily or battling summer humidity. After I've showered and rinsed out my shampoo and conditioner, I like to take a little bit of Purity Made Simple on a clean loofah to rinse the oils from my hair products off of my skin.

3. Use it as a makeup brush cleanser.

I'm super vigilant about washing my makeup brushes - dirty brushes transfer dirt, oils and bacteria from your skin to your products, contaminating them both. Purity Made Simple is a great brush cleanser because it breaks down makeup without drying out the bristles on synthetic or natural-hair brushes. 

4. Use it as a clarifying shampoo.

You don't often think of using your face wash as a hair product - but this multi-tasker can actually save you the expense of having to buy an additional hair product by doubling up as a clarifying shampoo. I've used Purity Made Simple as a weekly clarifying product and love how squeaky clean it leaves my hair. It's fantastic at removing product buildup and excess oils and primes my hair to really absorb my weekly hair mask so that my hair gets the maximum benefit.
