My Home Office Reorganization! - Home Reorganizing Series
I'm so excited to reveal my revamped home office! This room turned out exactly as I'd hoped it would.
I'm lucky enough to not only have a home office but one that's immediately next to my bedroom with a simple doorway separating the two spaces. I wanted to create a really pretty, functional room that would serve as its own space but still look consistent with my bedroom since they're essentially one large space. My home office also helps me to store my shoes and outwear since my bedroom closet is so small.
But first, here's a shot of my office while I was moving furniture around to make room for the armoire that's the focal point of the space:
My office felt like it was in disarray for about a week until my armoire came! My first act was to downsize my desk from a U-shape to an L-shape, and I held onto some wonderful bookcases to store my possessions until the armoire arrived. I had a dingy rug that got stained in the process of moving around, but I knew I wanted to replace it so it wasn't a big deal.
When I found this armoire just a few blocks from my house (I've blacked out the price), I fell in love! I love silvery, mirrored decor and this piece certainly fit my esthetic. But more than anything, it's incredibly functional. I've been able to store everything from my outwear and snow or rain boots to accessories and luggage in one beautiful place.
Once the armoire arrived, it was time to organize! I picked up these very sturdy shoe organizers from The Container Store while they were on sale and stacked them to make my shoe closet super organized and accessible. I can see every pair and get to them very easily. I have a hanging puck light for extra light when needed. The hooks on the door (which used to hang my coats) will get a new life - I'll use binder clips to keep my tall boots together and hang them from the door!
I've created a great crafting and filing station! All of my extra office supplies, my file drawer, crafting supplies and shredder live in one nook.
I'd previously purchased two floor lamps with shelves that provided me with additional storage. Here I store my reusable shopping bags and dry erase board tools (you'll see soon what those boards on the right are.) Turquoise storage bins from Target keep everything organized and add to the color palette.
I've used the back of a door leading out to the landing to create a wall of dry erase boards and a cork board. I'm able to jot quick notes and store coupons or outgoing mail right on the door so I can always be reminded of everything I need to do.
Here's an overview of my desk (with some info blacked out.) My books are corralled in a basket and I have some cool hooks to hang my headphones and charging cables. Some additional cleaning products that I have no other space for are corralled in baskets under the desk.
Finally, the other half of my desk! My most-used office tools, like pens and scissors, live up top, and I found a neat tissue box cover to sit on top of the desk. My second shelved floor lamp sits right by the desk to give me direct working light and somewhat camouflages some additional tools like my vacuum and ladder. An old rattan umbrella organizer sits right to the side of the armoire that stores outerwear.

I hope this gives you some redecorating ideas! In future posts I'll share some of the lessons I learned while revamping my home office but for now I'm just too excited to share how everything turned out!
